Our Story

The Roadside Tavern stands with the oldest pubs in the Burren region having been established in 1865 and is held as one of the finest public houses on the Wild Atlantic Way.

In late 2022, The Roadside Tavern passed to new management under the guidance of Peter Jackson. With a career spanning over 25 years in the hospitality sector, winning many personal accolades, Peter and his team strive to deliver the genuine Burren experience.

From seasonal local cuisine, beers from our own Burren Brewery and nightly live music, the Chead Míle Failte is always waiting for our guests.

Our Food, Our Philosophy

Since launching in 2022, The Roadside Tavern has received numerous awards due to the ethos of ecotourism that is shared in the region and the sustainable practices we embody.

We have a strong belief in using the very best of local produce and our philosophy of “grown not flown” shines in our seasonal food offerings.

Our menus are designed around the growing season. Working closely with producers and farmers, we strive to deliver a great dining experience.

We cater for every need, from light lunch, Sunday Brunch and our nightly specials board. We can tailor bespoke menus to suit all occasions, from family gatherings to corporate events and parties.

The Burren Brewery

The Burren Brewery which is situated over The Roadside Tavern was established by master brewer Peter Curtin in 2011. The Burren Brewery and The Roadside Tavern is part of Burren Experiences, a family business with an interest in creating and sharing a host of quality local products, ingredients and culture.

The beers are made from Irish Malted barley and offer a very unique taste from our famous Burren Black Stout, delicious Burren Read Ale and refreshing Burren Blond lager.

These beers are a great accompaniment to your dining experience with us.
